Avikus Signs HiNAS Control Agreement with CIDO Shipping for Next-Generation PCTC Fleet

Long-standing HD Hyundai shipbuilding partner expands collaboration into autonomous navigation and digital operation technologies

SEOUL, South Korea, September 17, 2026 – Avikus Co., Ltd., HD Hyundai’s specialized autonomous navigation technology company, today announced that it has signed an agreement with CIDO SHIPPING (HONGKONG) CO., LTD. (“CIDO Shipping”) to deploy HiNAS Control, Avikus’ autonomous navigation and digital operation solution, across a series of next-generation Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs).

Under the agreement, CIDO Shipping will adopt Smart Standard, the subscription package of HiNAS Control, for 20 LNG dual-fuel 7,600 CEU PCTCs currently under construction at China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI). The agreement also establishes a framework for potential deployment on an additional 12 vessels planned within the same newbuilding program. The vessels are scheduled for delivery from 2027 onward.

CIDO Shipping is a globally recognized shipowner with operations spanning vehicle carriers, tankers, containerships, gas carriers, and bulk carriers. The agreement represents an important extension of the relationship between CIDO Shipping and the HD Hyundai group. Over the years, CIDO Shipping has collaborated extensively with HD Hyundai shipbuilding affiliates across multiple vessel segments, building a longstanding relationship through 107 newbuilding projects across multiple vessel segments.

Building on this longstanding partnership, the two companies are now extending their cooperation beyond shipbuilding into autonomous navigation and digital operation technologies. Through HiNAS Control, Avikus will support voyage optimization, operational decision-making, and fleet-wide visibility, helping enhance operational efficiency while supporting safer vessel operations.

The deployment will form part of CIDO Shipping’s next-generation PCTC fleet renewal program, which includes a series of LNG dual-fuel vessels being constructed at CMHI.
